Click-to-WhatsApp referral now uses Meta's field names

Released: October 24, 2026

When a customer’s first message comes from a Click-to-WhatsApp ad or a post, entry[0].changes[0].value.messages[0].referral carries the ad attribution. Until now this object used Kirimdev’s internal camelCase keys (sourceId, ctwaClid, …), unlike the rest of the Meta envelope and Meta’s own documentation. It now carries Meta’s field names:

"referral": {
"source_url": "https://fb.me/abc",
"source_id": "120210000000000",
"source_type": "ad",
"headline": "Promo",
"ctwa_clid": "ARAkLkA8rmlFeiCktEJQ",
"welcome_message": { "text": "Hai! Ada yang bisa dibantu?" }
}

ctwa_clid is the click ID required by the Meta Conversions API. It is only present when Meta provides it.

camelCase referral keys Deprecated

Section titled “camelCase referral keys ”

The previous keys (sourceUrl, sourceId, sourceType, mediaType, imageUrl, videoUrl, thumbnailUrl, ctwaClid, welcomeMessage) are still sent alongside the new ones, so existing integrations keep working. Switch to the snake_case fields; the aliases will be removed in a future release announced here.
