Contact erasure now covers linked hosted-chat data

Released: September 22, 2026

DELETE /v1/{phone_number_id}/contacts/{id} now applies the same permanent erasure boundary to any linked hosted-chat identity. In addition to the existing WhatsApp contact, conversation, and message cascade, Kirimdev removes linked Kichat display-name and phone snapshots, customer sessions, messages, and media records. Private media bytes are placed in a durable deletion queue before the database references disappear.

The response shape and endpoint parameters are unchanged. Disconnecting a WhatsApp number is still non-destructive and does not erase hosted-chat history; only an explicit permanent contact deletion performs this erasure.
